Announcing our September Book!
We’re so excited to kick off Manhattan Book Club, and we wanted to give you an overview of how we will be announcing book picks.
Every month, we will release a featured book + two supplemental reads (feel like summer reading, anyone?) The featured book will be the main focus of the book club, which will meet monthly around Manhattan, but the two supplemental reads are for those who are just too voracious to stop at one book (or who may not like the featured read). Read any or all, but come to book club to make friends, network, and talk about what you’ve read.
Without further ado…
We are so excited to feature
The Kiss Quotient
as our September read!
This fun and surprisingly sensual novel by Helen Hoang introduces us to Stella Lane - an econometrician (did anyone else know this was an actual job title?) who until now has been failing in the love department. Until she hires Michael… who introduces Stella to a world of intimacy that allows her to break down her walls, leave her social anxieties behind, and find love.
September’s supplemental reads:
Manhattan Beach (Jennifer Egan, Fiction)
I’ll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman’s Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer (Michelle McNamara)
You can RSVP for book club at the bottom of this site and we’ll send you the details. Looking forward to embarking upon this reading journey with all of you!
